Abstract

The preservation of dental health among workers in mechanical engineering enterprises remains a pressing issue in occupational medicine and public health. Harmful production factors such as metal aerosols, organic compounds, industrial noise, vibration, and thermal exposure significantly contribute to the development and progression of dental diseases. The absence of a unified system for organizing dental care in industrial enterprises reduces the effectiveness of preventive examinations and therapeutic interventions. The aim of this study was to improve methods for assessing the prevalence and course of major dental diseases among mechanical engineering workers, taking into account occupational characteristics and professional risk factors. A total of 234 workers aged 25–60 years were examined. Clinical, epidemiological, instrumental, and laboratory methods were used, including assessment of periodontal status, caries intensity (CPO index), oral hygiene indices (OHI-S, Fedorov–Volodkina), and SPITN index. Statistical analysis was performed to compare groups with different lengths of service and exposure intensity. The results demonstrated a high prevalence of caries and periodontal diseases among workers, with severity increasing proportionally to work experience and intensity of occupational exposure. A direct relationship between harmful production factors and dental pathology was established. Based on the findings, criteria for early diagnosis and prognosis of dental diseases were developed. An integrated prevention and rehabilitation system was implemented, including staged diagnosis, differential treatment approaches, normalization of local biochemical parameters, and functional restoration using physiotherapeutic and balneological methods. In conclusion, the developed comprehensive system of prevention, treatment, and dental rehabilitation significantly reduces the prevalence and severity of dental diseases, improves quality of life, decreases temporary disability, and increases labor productivity among industrial workers. The proposed diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms can be effectively applied in dental clinics at industrial enterprises and occupational pathology centers.

1. Introduction

Currently, in medical practice, it is one of the pressing problems that are waiting for a solution for the prevention and effective treatment of dental diseases in production workers. The development of modern methods of treatment of dental diseases in production workers is also important to introduce into dental practice. The inefficiency of traditional methods of treatment requires an integrated approach that combines dentistry, hygiene and rehabilitation. One of the most important indicators of Public Health, defined as the state of mental and social well-being in modern production workers in mechanical engineering, is the health of the working population [1,3,5,7,9,11].
Modern production workers in mechanical engineering are characterized by a high degree of morbidity, including somatic diseases, occupational and work-related diseases, as well as a significant decrease or loss of labor capacity due to inconveniences in temporary and permanent work ravines, as well as a high mortality rate, especially among men of working age.
The proportion of elderly people in the working population is increasing, which also reduces the level of working capacity. It is known that the socio-economic development of the country largely depends on the health and working capacity of workers. One of the main tasks of ensuring the medical and dental health of modern production workers in mechanical engineering is the maintenance of Labor potential, the quality of life and health of workers, reducing the consequences of industrial injuries, accidents, occupational diseases, timely provision of preventive and therapeutic services, availability and effectiveness of medical care.
Providing dental care to workers of industrial enterprises is one of the most important principles for organizing medical and preventive care for the population, which significantly affects the health of the working contingent. At the same time, the lack of a unified scheme for providing dental assistance to workers in industrial enterprises leads to a sharp decrease in the effectiveness and quality of preliminary and periodic dental examinations, which are the main link of the system for the Prevention of dental diseases in workers affected by harmful and dangerous professional factors.
One of the main problems of providing medical care to workers of industrial enterprises in the modern health and health system remains one of the urgent tasks waiting for a solution in medical practice in the absence of structural - functional interaction between medical specialists and periodic medical examinations and the continuity of treatment and preventive measures within the later stages of medical examination of workers. It is important to develop the need to continue experimental and hygienic research on this problem, taking into account the evidence presented [2,4,6,8,10,11].
The purpose of the study. improvement of methods for studying the spread and course of the main dental diseases among workers in Mechanical Engineering Enterprises on the characteristics of their work activities and professional risks.

2. Object and Subject of Research

In mechanical engineering enterprises, with different professional experience, the result of various harmful production factors (metal aerosols, organic compounds, noise, vibration, thermal vibrations) there are dental diseases 234 dental patients under 60 years old were taken at the age of 25. Research methods. To solve the research tasks and achieve the goal, the following methods were used in the scientific work: the study of the clinical – functional state of the parodont tissue and oral mucosa, indicators of dental diseases and criteria for general somatic rehabilitation. Results and analyzes. A comprehensive, multi-year study of the dental health of workers at Mechanical Engineering Enterprises was carried out using modern clinical, instrumental and laboratory methods. As a result of professional injuries, the laws of the development of dental diseases were determined depending on the length of work and the intensity of the influence of professional factors.
In order to diagnose dental diseases of workers at machine-building enterprises, the following examination methods were used: clinical and epidemiological method: to assess the condition of gums, dental examination methods were carried out using the CPO (caries, fillings, acquired teeth) indices for teeth and the SPITN (tartar and dental caraches) detection index. The oral cavity was examined under natural and artificial light using a set of dental equipment. When the oral cavity was examined, its depth of entry was studied, the length and character of movement of the tongue nodes, as well as the tightness of the upper and lower lip nodes were determined, the level of hygiene in the oral cavity, the condition of the mucous membrane and parodont was assessed, the condition of the hard tissues of the teeth was determined. When the condition of the mucous membrane was studied, special attention was paid to their color, pastureness of soft tissues and the presence of tumors, pain when pressed against the edge of the gums, bleeding from the gums when pressed and teeth were cleaned, or bleeding from the gums when eating solid food, the presence of an unpleasant smell from the mouth.
Any pathological changes detected in the oral cavity of children were included in the outpatient card and a developed special examination card, where pathological shifts in the area of each tooth and periodont tissue were registered both at the first examination and during treatment, and in the post-treatment period. Accumulation of tartar and Carache in Research guru patients.
* Analysis of occupational factors: studied the labor activity of patients to identify harmful production factors (chemicals, vibration, noise) that affect the condition of solid dental tissues and periodont.
* Survey: collected data on complaints about harmful habits, work experience, oral health.
• Statistical analysis: in groups with different service life (for example, up to 5 years, 5-10 years, more than 10 years), the type levels of distribution data (caries, periodont diseases) were determined.
* Hygiene assessment: to determine the effects of industrial dust, indicators of dental examination were carried out in the methods of oral hygiene indices (OHI-s, Fedorov-Volodkina).
Mechanical engineering workers caries and parodont are characterized by a high prevalence of pathologies, the relationship of the work environment and the joint effect of work experience has been studied in research analysis. In this population, criteria for early diagnosis and prognosis of dental pathologies were developed.
An integrated system of prevention and rehabilitation was developed and implemented, which included the gradual diagnosis and treatment of dental diseases, normalization of local biochemical indicators and functional restoration.

3. Conclusions

A scientifically based and specific complex system of prevention, treatment and dental rehabilitation was created, including the development of specialized preventive measures, differential methods of dental treatment and rehabilitation programs using physiotherapeutic and balneological factors. The developed system significantly reduces the prevalence and severity of dental diseases, improves the dental health and quality of life of workers, reduces temporary disability and increases labor productivity. The proposed diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation algorithms can be carried out in dental clinics at industrial enterprises and specialized occupational pathology centers.
